The addition of professional guest musicians to our Chapel services was made possible by a generous donation to our music ministry. They have added a rich orchestral balance to accompany our choristers and raise our worship to a new level.

Elizabeth Lu

Flutist

Elizabeth Lu first gained recognition at the age of twelve, when she was featured as a “flute prodigy” on NBC Television. Shortly after, she made her debut as a soloist with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra after winning the Conductor’s Award in the NJSO Young Artist Competition. In subsequent years, she won numerous competitions, including the 2022 National Flute Association Young Artist Competition 2nd place and Best Performance of the Commissioned Piece, First Place – New Jersey Flute Society Competition, National Flute Association High School Competition, Ohio Music Competition, and top prizewinner in the NFA Orchestral Competition. Ms. Lu holds a Bachelor of Music from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Professional Studies Certificate from the Colburn Conservatory. Following her graduate studies, Ms. Lu was accepted as a Fellow in the New World Symphony. Since completing her fellowship in 2019, Lu joined the Miami City Ballet as Piccoloist, Symphony of Americas as Principal Flute, and Palm Beach Symphony as Associate Principal Flutist. She has performed in notable venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall and Peter Jay Sharp Theater, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In addition to maintaining her private studio, she is current Adjunct Faculty at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music, teaching the flute students at Frost Preparatory Program.

Bobby Gallagher

Trumpeter

Originally from North Palm Beach, Florida, Bobby Gallagher is currently second trumpet of the Miami City Ballet’s Opus One Orchestra and performing as third trumpet with the Jacksonville Symphony during the 2022-2023 season. He completed his artist diploma, masters, and bachelors in trumpet performance at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music under the tutelage of Craig Morris. Bobby has also performed regularly with orchestras such as the Palm Beach Symphony, the New World Symphony, the Florida Orchestra in addition to joining groups such as the Florida Grand Opera, the Vero Beach Opera/ Atlantic Classical Orchestra, and the Coastal Symphony of Georgia as a substitute. He has worked with conductors such as Gerard Schwarz, Michael Tilson Thomas, James Conlon, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Courtney Lewis, and Gary Sheldon. Recently, Bobby has spent summers at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, Festival Napa Valley, and the Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale.

Erin Gittelsohn

Oboist

Oboist Dr. Erin Gittelsohn performs throughout the South Florida area and instructs young musicians from the elementary through college level.  After participating in the Juilliard School Pre-College Program, she received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. She continued her education, receiving a Master of Music degree at the University of Maryland and a Doctoral degree at the Catholic University of America.  She has served as principal oboist of the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C., oboe instructor at Shenandoah University in Northern Virginia, and has performed with numerous ensembles in the Washington D.C. area.  For the last decade she has actively performed in South Florida’s various music ensembles, including ballet, opera, orchestra, and wind ensemble.  She is passionate about bringing chamber music to all audiences as a founding member of the Scherzo Trio, comprised of oboe, cello, and piano. Dr. Gittelsohn is currently principal oboist of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra and oboe instructor at Florida Atlantic University.

Sharon Janezic

French Horn

Ms. Janezic holds a Bachelor’s in music performance from the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University. She performs in the Southwest Florida Symphony in Ft Myers, Florida, second horn in Orchestra Miami,  fourth horn in the Miami City Ballet, and section player in Boca Sinfonia and the Symphony of the Americas. She is also a member of the Brubeck Brass Quintet.  Ms. Janezic currently holds a faculty position as the Band Program Director of Pine Crest School.

Geremy Miller

Violinist

Geremy Miller is the Associate Concertmaster of the Opus One Orchestra, which accompanies the Miami City Ballet. Geremy has performed for 17 years as a First Violinist with the Florida Philharmonic and has very extensive experience in South Florida with symphonies, operas, ballets, and studio-recordings. Geremy has played on studio recordings with Jackie Gleason, John Denver, Collective Soul, Extreme, Julio Iglesias, and Gloria Estefan.
